JOB TITLE ONSITE MECHANIC-DETOUR LAKE MINE SITE
DEPARTMENT SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY

Duties include repair and maintenance of all onsite construction equipment (excavators, bobcats, manlifts etc.).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Evaluating the repairs needed on various onsite construction equipment with the use of computerized diagnostic tools.
Determining the required parts needed for repairs of onsite equipment and placing these orders with the maintenance coordinator.
Performing the necessary repairs to the onsite equipment, after receiving the parts.
Testing for optimum equipment operation after repairs.
Using a professional opinion to provide solutions to immediate and recurring problems.
Respecting company policies and procedures when completing work orders.
Respecting company’s Health and Safety in the workplace policies and procedures.
Ensuring that the workplace environment is clean and secure at all times.
On a rational weekend basis, be available both nights and weekends for emergency calls.
All other tasks that might be related to this job.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Professional diploma, certificate or equivalent in equipment mechanics.
3-5 years of experience.
Class 5 driver’s licence.

KNOWLEDGE
A good comprehension of mechanics is a must.
Experience with diesel engine mechanics.
Ability to communicate easily in English
